Toll Road
Many of you are aware of the proposed
construction of the 241 toll road extension
through the San Mateo watershed.
Although the city council is powerless to
prevent this from happening, we do have
the opportunity to say something about it.
The San Mateo Creek area is special
because it is one of the few remaining
watershed areas in California.  Along with
the construction of the first segment of the
toll road came housing developments.
History tells us, if the road is extended,
future development will follow.  The San
Mateo Creek area is too unique and too
vulnerable to subject to urbanization.  If it
must be built, alternate routes  should be
explored.  Save Trestles!
